Rob Weiss is an American film and television producer, screenwriter, actor, and director with a net worth of $25 million. He is most well-known for executive producing the HBO television series “Entourage” and “Ballers.”
Born in Baldwin, Nassau County, New York, Weiss attended Woodmere Academy where he met his future “Entourage” co-creator Doug Ellin. He studied fashion and film at the Parsons School of Design but did not graduate.
In 1993, Weiss directed, wrote, and executive produced his debut film “Amongst Friends,” which led to a producing deal with Universal Pictures. He secured the rights to author Bret Easton Ellis’ novel “American Psycho” into a movie and earned a co-producer credit when the project was finally released in 2000.
Weiss produced the MTV series “Punk’d” from 2003 to 2004 and teamed up with Ellin to create “Entourage” in 2004. He wrote 20 episodes and produced the entire series run, which aired 96 episodes between 2004 and 2011. He also wrote and produced the 2015 film adaptation of “Entourage.”
Weiss was a writer and executive producer for the series “How to Make It in America” from 2010 to 2011 and began serving as executive producer of the television series “Ballers” in 2015. He has been nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards and four Writers Guild of America Awards for his work on “Entourage.”
