WHAT’S your favourite shampoo?

Unless you’ve been gifted the posh stuff for Christmas, the likelihood is you enjoy switching between sweet-smelling brands on the supermarket shelves.

You probably don’t think twice about what’s in those bottles, or even look at the list of confusing ingredients before you buy.

But did you know there’s actually a tonne of shampoo brands you shouldn’t be using on your hair?

An expert has taken to TikTok in the hope of stopping women from using the biggest offenders in the business.

And much to the disappointment of thousands, she says Lush shampoo bars are the absolute worst.

“If you use the last one I’ll report you.”

The curly-haired beauty jumps straight into her ‘worst shampoo’ list, beginning with Herbal Essences Daily Detox Clean.

“It’s really high in salt which is gonna dry your hair and completely strip it,” she explains. “This means you can say goodbye to your hair colour.

“And it’s also really high in fragrance which is so unnecessary.”

Next up is Tresemme 2 in 1 shampoo.

“There are some good Tresemme shampoos, but this is not one of them,” she states.

“Anything that’s a 2 in 1, you can just put that down and walk away.

“Salt and fragrance are straight up there.”

The third offender is L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay.

“L’Oreal makes some good products but this is not one of them. Again with the salt and the kaolin is really far down on the list, which means that there’s not that much in the shampoo so you’re not really getting the benefits of it.”

Up fourth is The Body Shop’s anti-dandruff Ginger shampoo.

“If you use this shampoo, you need to be sectioned,” declares Hasini. “Again there’s so much salt in there and an unnecessary amount of fragrance.”

Finally, we get to the very worst offender - and it’s surprised us all.

“The Lush shampoo bars are the worst offenders. It is almost entirely just SLS and not all sulfates are bad but this one? In this concentration? Absolutely not.

“And then the rest of it is literally just 90% fragrance. Why do you need this much fragrance? Whose hair smells that bad?

“So I’m telling you in the year of our lord and saviour 2023, do not do this to your hair.”

Hasini’s fans are stunned by her opinion, with one replying: “I feel attacked with the specific Body Shop ginger shampoo and the Lush bars.”

But others completely agree with the expert.

“Ex-Lush employee here. The bars are 90+% SLS and have caused severe scalp irritation and hair loss for loads of people who use them long term,” said a concerned follower.

Hasini replied: “Yeah it’s a shame because they’re good for the environment, but there’s so many better shampoos out there than the Lush ones.”
